  • Local (TRNC insurers) or
  • International travel/expat insurance.

Private healthcare:
High-quality private clinics are available (Near East Hospital, Kolan Hospital).
Prices are lower than in the EU, but without insurance, costs can be high; expat insurance is recommended.

Some banks require it as collateral for mortgage financing.

📌 6. International Coverage
⚠️ TRNC insurers are not part of EU international insurance schemes or the Green Card system, except for temporary insurance purchased at the border for Southern Cyprus.
⚠️ For travel outside TRNC, it is recommended to have:

  • International travel insurance from your home country or through global expat providers (Bupa, Allianz, Cigna).
