🎒 General Information
The education system in Cyprus is high-quality, accessible, and recognized throughout the EU.
It is based on the European model and divided into public (state) and private (international) schools.
Education is compulsory for children aged 5 to 15 and optional for secondary and higher education.

🏫 Public Schools
These are free of charge and the teaching language is Greek.

They maintain high academic standards but are more suitable for children who already speak Greek.

For EU citizens (including Slovaks and Czechs), they are fully accessible.

📍 Every major city (Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos) has state-funded primary and secondary schools.


🌍 Private and International Schools
For foreign students and expats, international schools with instruction in English are popular.
These schools offer British, American, or IB (International Baccalaureate) curricula.
